City Palace, Jaipur

Built in 1727, the City Palace is both Rajput and Mughal styles. And of course it has the distinctive Jaipur pink colour. Fabulous & intricate door frames These students looked so demure!

Jantar Mantar, Jaipur

Jantar Mantar is a enormous open air observatory built in 1728 by Maharaja Jai Singh. He was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about astrology and measurement. It looks more futuristic rather than almost 300 years old. Heath & safety is not high on the priority list. Check out the ladder! Safety harness!???

Paparazzi!

Yesterday I was swarmed by a group of school girls. I thought I was being quite unobtrusive shooting these young women who gathered for a group shot! As the sequence shows, a few started to notice me. Within five minutes all the cell phones came out and I had my five minutes of fame! I’m sure my face is all over Facebook by now.

In the Thar Desert, Jaisalmer is made entirely of sandstone and creates a golden captivating glow. It is the only “living” fort in India. View of the fort at sunset. Real people living real lives…. This child didn’t quite know what to made of my camera! Fabulous handicrafts….
